[ THE MISSION · READ ALOUD AT EVERY DECISION ]

Homie exists to reduce suffering and increase successful placements of dogs — by helping rescues, fosters, and shelter volunteers move dogs into homes faster, with higher confidence, and with less burnout for the people doing the work.

[ A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER ]

Why I built Homie

I spent a month embedded with rescues — a parking-lot operation in Moab, a sanctuary in Wyoming, a municipal shelter outside Denver. I sat at kitchen tables while coordinators answered the same eleven questions before breakfast. I watched one hold a foster’s hand through a hard night.

Homie was truly built by the rescue community. I just listened, observed, and took notes. Every screen in this product started as a scribble on someone’s kennel clipboard.

“Heroic people were being held together by spreadsheets, group chats, and memory. That’s a software problem. So I treated it like one.”

— Liam, founder (and foster no. 0001)

I’ve learned I can’t make rescue easy. But I can help make it less heavy.

rescue is holy work. the admin isn’t.

● WHAT I KEPT SEEING

Six bottlenecks that quietly break rescues.

None of these are dramatic. That’s exactly why they win. Each one is boring enough to ignore and heavy enough to break the people carrying it.

open them. this is the whole pitch.

01 · Dogs sit unseen

A dog nobody photographs is a dog nobody meets. Visibility depends on whoever happens to have time, a phone, and followers — so the shy ones wait longest.

[ THE COMMITMENTS ]

01

A voice for the dogs

When human convenience and dog welfare conflict, dog welfare wins. Every time.

02

No gamification, ever

No points races, leaderboards, or streaks. Care is honored with a credential, never a scoreboard.

03

Honest about hardship

“This is hard” is what lets “here’s how we’ll support you” land. We don’t do chirpy.

04

Neutral on purpose

We never take sides between rescues or training philosophies. A trusted intermediary, for the network.

05

No dog left behind by the math

Our intelligence must never become an efficiency engine that disadvantages hard-to-place dogs.

06

Leave the door open

Clean cancellation, full data export. Rescues stay because it works — never because they’re locked in.

Adoption day handoff

Scout — home.

[ THE MEASURE ]

Finding the dog a home is the outcome everyone wants.

We’re all on the same team — the rescue, the foster, the volunteer, the adopter, and the software. Homie’s only score is dogs placed well, and coordinators who still love the work a year in.
