Shelter volunteers · the same app, volunteer mode

Kennel card: “reactive”

Volunteer mode is a verified context on the same Homie login fosters use. Anchored to your shelter, not to any rescue.
You are
→ Approved by a city or county shelter to walk, handle or run playgroups.
→ In the building often enough to know the dogs by name.
→ Tired of watching good dogs age out because nobody outside saw them.
→ Not rescue staff. Your role is anchored to the shelter.
You’d use it to
→ Open a passport for a dog while you’re standing at the kennel.
→ Record what you saw next to what the card claims.
→ Attach photos and video, held from public until a coordinator checks.
→ Elevate the dog so rescues in range see it and pull.
→ Watch your dogs move: draft → elevated → pulled → home.

Every field carries your name and your role at the time you wrote it. That provenance is why rescues can act on it, and why, over time, accurate advocacy raises your standing and inaccurate advocacy quietly lowers it. Nothing you wrote is ever deleted; corrections are added on top.

Join with your phone. A text code, your name, email, post code. No password.
2
Pick your shelter. Search 1,251 indexed shelters. Say how you’re approved there: staff contact, volunteer badge, or a Mentor who’ll vouch.
3
Start drafting while you wait. Drafts are yours immediately. Elevation switches on when a Homie reviewer confirms with the shelter, usually within a few days.
4
Already a foster? Same login. Choose Volunteer at sign-in or switch in your profile. Verification is per shelter and travels with you.
