You take the dog. We take the admin.

Homie is the app your rescue uses to run fostering. It shows you what your dog needs today, lets you log a note or a med in two taps, keeps you in touch with the rescue, and turns your photos into the dog’s story. Nothing else.

Find dogs that need fostering that match you, your space and your lifestyle

It is

→ Your rescue’s foster tool. The rescue is on the other end.
→ A to-do list for one dog: meds, notes, appointments.
→ A camera roll that becomes the dog’s passport.
→ A direct line to your coordinator.
→ A record of every dog you’ve helped.
→ Free, forever, for fosters.

It isn’t

→ A social network. There are no foster-to-foster DMs.
→ A game. No leaderboards, no streaks, no shame.
→ A diagnosis tool. You say what you saw; the rescue decides what it means.
→ An auto-poster. It drafts; you post.
→ A way to see the whole rescue. You see your dogs.

You’ll usually get here because a rescue you foster for uses Homie, or because you saw a dog on someone’s page and tapped “pledge to foster.” Either way: one login, and you only ever see the dogs you’re connected to.

Article · Home

Open it. It tells you what today needs.

Home is your dogs, in order of what’s due. A med at 8, a note the rescue asked for, a meet & greet Saturday. When there’s a dog nearby who needs a foster, it shows up here too, with a pull deadline if there is one. One coaching prompt at a time, ranked by relevance, never a nag.

Marking a dose done writes to the dog’s medical record at the rescue, with your name and the time. If you miss one, the reminder comes back; nobody gets a red badge. If you’re away, flag it and the rescue arranges cover. You never message another foster to sort it out.

Article · observations

You say what you saw. That’s the whole job.

A note is chips, not an essay. Eight kinds, each about twenty seconds. You’re never asked to diagnose; you tap what happened and toward whom. Anything worrying goes straight to the rescue. Every note becomes part of the dog’s passport, in your name, and it’s what the next foster, the vet and the adopter read.

Notes are append-only. If you got it wrong, add a correction; nothing is silently overwritten. A Lost dog note is different: it flips the dog’s public page into a finder page with a coarse last-seen area and a no-login “I’ve seen this dog” form, and pages the rescue.

Article · Discover & pledge

Finding your next dog, and saying yes.

Discover shows dogs near you who need a foster, sorted by urgency, distance and your preferences (size, kids, cats, how long you can hold). Some are already with a rescue; some are still in a shelter waiting to be pulled, and your pledge is part of what gets them out. A pledge is a standing offer, not a contract: how long, any conditions, a note. The rescue matches and confirms. Re-pledging updates your offer; it never stacks.

One thread with the rescue. Nothing gets lost.

Messages is you and the rescue, per dog. Ask a question, send a photo, get a decision. Application updates, meet & greet bookings, pledges collected and sightings arrive as cards you can act on inside the thread. Alerts is the quiet list of everything that changed. Article · Profile

A record of care that travels with you.

Your profile is a credential, not a score. It lists every dog you’ve held, the rescues you’ve worked with, your verified hats (foster, shelter volunteer, transport driver), and your standing. Standing is impact points a rescue awards when a real contribution happens: a placement, a coverage weekend, a transport leg. You can’t earn them by tapping. They’re private to you and the rescues evaluating you; there is no leaderboard.

Article · Passport & share

Your camera roll is their story. The app just organises it.

Every photo you take goes into the dog’s passport, cropped square. When you’re ready, the app drafts a post in your voice from your notes and milestones. You edit, you post, from your own account. It never posts for you. Anyone who comments “I’d take him” on Instagram can get the dog’s page by DM, and their pledge lands on the rescue’s board with your name on the referral.

100 days with Pepper. She came in scared of the leash and now she waits by the door at 7. Good with dogs, crate trained, ready for a slow-morning kind of home. Adoption-ready in Denver. Comment PEPPER and I’ll DM you her page.
