our mission
Dogs run out of time because everyone’s schedule is unpredictable. But collectively, there’s more than enough time between us, we just need to piece it together.
In a study spanning 51 animal shelters and nearly 28,000 dogs led by Dr. Lisa Gunter, dogs that spent even just one to two nights in a foster home were over 14 times more likely to be adopted than dogs remaining solely in the shelter kennel.

THE LONGER READ
Why a dog sits in a kennel for weeks, until it's too late.
The harsh reality: dogs are being euthanized simply because of uncertainty, uncertainty from a rescue if pledges will be honored, or that a foster will actually show up, and an uncertainty from fosters about how and when they are supported, how long a commitment is, and if they might find themselves juggling life and a dog that depends on them.
Homie takes into account your availability, and the availability of every other foster nearby. It knows preferences, home types, and whether a dog does well with other dogs, so the right match finds the right home.
Homie exists to close that gap. We give rescues, fosters, and volunteers one shared place to work from, so a dog’s file, its care, its photos, and its path home all live in one system that everybody can see and trust.
We are not trying to replace what a rescue already does well. We are trying to connect it, speed it up, and take the busywork off a coordinator’s plate so they can spend their time on the dogs instead of the paperwork.
The point of all of it is simple:
get more dogs out of kennels and into homes, faster, with less burnout.
