dogs win when they land in the right space
our mission
Dogs run out of time because everyone’s schedule is unpredictable. But collectively, there’s more than enough time between us, we just need to piece it together.
In a study spanning 51 animal shelters and nearly 28,000 dogs led by Dr. Lisa Gunter, dogs that spent even just one to two nights in a foster home were over 14 times more likely to be adopted than dogs remaining solely in the shelter kennel.

HOMIE FOR VOLUNTEERS >>
WHAT THE APP COSTS, FOREVER
Homie is free for fosters, adopters, and volunteers. Rescues run the whole operation on it.
Your living room, crowned a hero
Every dog fostered, is a kennel space freed up in a shelter, this stops over capacity shelters from euthanizing for space.
Not only will you save two lives, but you free the hands of rescue staff and volunteers who can continue to assist you through fostering, adoption as well as help more dogs in need.

Foster Features
How fosters show up.
Foster support is our focus. Homie’s job is bridging the gap between foster and rescue, so everyone feels supported. We’re all in this together.
NO. 13
Homie keeps a simple, honest record of the dogs you’ve fostered and the homes you’ve helped them find. That record stays part of their legacy, even after they’re adopted, and families can keep sharing updates to those that helped along the way.
A Legacy worth remembering

“Eleven dogs. Eleven couches.”

“7:40am. Mark given. Done.”
NO. 04
If a dog is on medicine, Homie reminds you when it’s time and lets you check it off. The rescue can see it was given, so nobody has to double-check with a phone call.
OVERHEARD IN THE APP
NO. 07
Every dog gets their own page link, QR code and Instagram post connectivity. Fosters and Rescues Co-Manage the dogs page. Sharing small wins and milestones of your foster helps the world fall in love with them and they find their perfect home.

“I posted her page. Three applications.”

“Hi, we’re the quiet-Sundays type.”
NO. 10
An optional video introduction your rescue sees by default, so they get to know you as more than a form. You choose if it ever goes public.
THE LONGER READ
Why a dog sits in a kennel for weeks, until it's too late.
The harsh reality: dogs are being euthanized simply because of uncertainty, uncertainty from a rescue if pledges will be honored, or that a foster will actually show up, and an uncertainty from fosters about how and when they are supported, how long a commitment is, and if they might find themselves juggling life and a dog that depends on them.
Homie takes into account your availability, and the availability of every other foster nearby. It knows preferences, home types, and whether a dog does well with other dogs, so the right match finds the right home.
Homie exists to close that gap. We give rescues, fosters, and volunteers one shared place to work from, so a dog’s file, its care, its photos, and its path home all live in one system that everybody can see and trust.
We are not trying to replace what a rescue already does well. We are trying to connect it, speed it up, and take the busywork off a coordinator’s plate so they can spend their time on the dogs instead of the paperwork.
The point of all of it is simple:
get more dogs out of kennels and into homes, faster, with less burnout.
